Pesto Sauce originated from Italy and is commonly used in pasta, pizza and sandwiches. It is a strongly flavored sauce that needs to be used in small quantities. Since it contains large amount of oil, it can last for a few weeks in refrigerator.

Ingredients
| Fresh Basil Leaves | 1/2 cup packed |
| Pine Nuts or Walnuts | 1/8 cup |
| Parmesan Cheese | 1/8 cup |
| Extra Virgin Olive Oil | 1/8 cup |
| Garlic | 1 small clove |
| Salt | 1/4 tsp |
Method
- Grind basil leaves, nuts and garlic clove. I have used the traditional stone to grind it but you can use whatever.
- Mix in olive oil, salt and parmesan cheese and viola the Pesto Sauce is ready.
Notes:
- You can use pine nuts or walnuts. Basically it needs to get the nutty flavor.
- Fresh parmesan cheese is better than the powdered one.
