Pesto Sauce originated from Italy and commonly used in pasta.
|Preparation Time:||15 minutes|
|Fresh Basil Leaves||1/2 cup packed|
|Pine Nuts or Walnuts||1/8 cup|
|Parmesan Cheese||1/8 cup|
|Extra Virgin Olive Oil||1/8 cup|
|Garlic||1 small clove|
- Grind basil leaves, nuts and garlic clove. I have used the traditional stone to grind it but you can use whatever.
- Mix in olive oil, salt and parmesan cheese and viola the Pesto Sauce is ready.
- You can use pine nuts or walnuts. Basically it needs to get the nutty flavor.
- Fresh parmesan cheese is better than the powdered one.
